Oktoberfest!

Today I went to Oktoberfest in Kitchener,ON with my german class. Now I wasn't too thrilled about it because I didn't talk to anyone in my german class, but I'd have to say, it was really cool.

So after being in a little car for 1.5 hours, with my german teacher driving (in my opinion, he should just stick to riding his bike everywhere because he is not a great driver) we finally got to this little recreation center, in the middle of nowhere. When you walked inside, the only thing you could hear was polka music.

About 5 minutes after we sat down it was time to eat. I felt like an outcast because everyone knows Germany is famous for their sausages...and me being a vegetarian, I was the only one eating vegetarian lasagna. It was really tasty though.

After all that there was some dancing, but since I didn't know anyone I just sat there and watched. Eventually, I started talking to some people because I felt a little bored.

Today was a "high school day" , so there were like 14 other schools there and my one friend, who we can call Lemon, who I haven't seen for 2 years was there with her school. I was going to go talk to her but I'm a shy person and I didn't know if she would remember me or not so I didn't say anything. Well apparently Lemon did remember me because she came over to my schools table and we talked for about 10 minutes, except you know when you haven't seen someone a long time and you don't know what to talk about and it just ends up being really awkward... yeah... well that happened.

Overall, Oktoberfest was amazing. The food was good, the dancers were great, the music was...polka-y. If you're into German culture, or you don't know anything about German (like myself) you should go. It's a great experience , both fun and educational...but don't worry, you hardly notice the educational part.

Short Day Madness!

So today, my school had a short day. Basically all they do is take 10 minutes off of each class so you get out 50 minutes earlier. Even though 50 minutes isn't that long, it's better than staying until 3:15.

I have to take the city bus home, it's about an hour long ride. Usually on a regular school day, they will send more buses for the students. So we'll usually have 5 buses that some in 15 minutes.

You'd think that since we got out 50 minutes early I'd be home 50 minutes early right? Wrong. I got home 20 minutes LATER than I usually do.

I bet you're wondering how I managed that right? Well, some people... some  really ignorant people... like to cut you off and totally push you out of the line to get on the bus. Those people are the reason, other, nicer people who don't like to push people because 4 weeks before a girl got run over by a bus, at that very stop, because of people pushing onto the bus, have to wait an hour for a bus.

Oh people really frustrate me. Not to mention it was also raining, my backpack weighed more than I do, and the one person in the whole school I hate... felt the need to stand there and talk to me the whole time.

So I guess what I'm trying to say here is.... my day totally sucked. How was your day? Hopefully it was better than mine.

Top 5 Best movies ever.

Here are some of my all time favourite movies. You may not like them, but I'm going to share them with you anyways.

          5. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
You know how you're always hearing about the holocaust from the jewish(or polish or whoever else was victim to the holocaust) point of view? Well, this story is told in a Nazi's point of view.

It's about this little boy named Bruno, and his father's a Nazi. Bruno's father was being relocated to a concentration camp, which forced the family to move out of Berlin.

Bruno's parents never told Bruno exactly what his father did. He didn't know that just past the tree's in his backyard, lied a concentration camp. Until one day, Bruno went to explore and he found the camp.

That's when he met his little Jewish friend (I don't remember his name). Everyday Bruno would sneak out and bring some food and a game to play with his new friend.

Bruno still did not understand what this place was. He would ask his friend about it, and his friend would tell him he had to work all day and what not. And then one day Bruno went to the fence and his friend couldn't find his parents, so the little boy got Bruno a pair of striped pajamas and Bruno snuck into the camp to help his friend look for his parents.

I'm not going to say anymore because I don't want to ruin the end. Which by the way is pretty sad.

                      4. The Butterfly Effect

This movie....I don't even think I can describe it. I've watched it about 500 times, and it still confuses me.

Basically it's about this guy who has this mental problem. He like has all these blackouts and then when reading the journals he used to write he like totally changes his life.

Unless you've seen the movie, you probably have no clue what I'm talking about. You just have to watch it, it's a pretty amazing movie.

                                3. Halloween 2
Not the old one but the new one directed by Rob Zombie. I love horror movies. Except I have never found one that actually scared me. I like this movie because it is really graphic and violent. It's pretty amazing.

Rob Zombie should really direct more scary movies because at least his are actually decent.

                        2. Shutter Island
This movie, as predictable as it is, is just amazing. Basically it's about this cop who goes to investigate the disappearance of a lady in a prison. But not just any prison. A prison on an island. Oh and it's a prison for the mentally ill.

This movie is just totally crazy, and like I said... it's pretty amazing.

                               1. Forrest Gump
I can't even begin to explain how much I love this movie. It has so many life lessons, and it's just awesome.

If everyone in the world was like Forrest Gump, it would be perfect. He's just the perfect character, he does things other people wouldn't do because they'd be scared of what others would think.

This character who everyone calls stupid graduated college, fought in Vietnam, owned a shrimp company, got partnered with apple, and ran for 3 years straight.

It's a great movie you HAVE to watch it.

So there are some of my favourite movies. What are yours?

SO MUCH HOMEWORK!

So I'm in grade 10, and I go to a 'special' high school. No not the special you're thinking of. It's a self paced high school. So basically, if I worked really, really hard, I could finish high school early. So since it's a self paced school and you don't have any due dates for anything, you can fall behind, and you could be in high school until you're like 32.

At the end of each month, we get a report, and it let's our parents know if we're behind, on track, or ahead. Tomorrow is the last day of work submission for reports, and I am CRAZY BUSY with homework.

So far I've done a unit in math, done a family tree for german, studied for a german test, finished reading the book 'To Kill A Mocking Bird', started my essay for 'To Kill A Mocking Bird', and typed up a lab in science, with still one lab to go. All this has to be handed in tomorrow to make it on my report.

On top of that I hurt my shoulder, I have a major headache, my cat keeps sitting on my laptop, and I'm really tired.

Well, I guess I should stop procrastinating and finish that lab. Wish me luck guys.

What?! You're a vegetarian?!

Yes, I am a vegetarian. For the people who don't know me personally, you probably don't really care. But the people who do know me... boy were they surprised. Apparently I don't seem like the type of person who like animals. But I do.

So a lot of people ask me why I did it. Why did I become a vegetarian? Well I'll tell you why. Well actually I'll show you. This is the video that made me decide to go veg.

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH YOU MAY NOT WANT TO WATCH THIS.

I've been vegetarian for 3 months now. It took a while to convince my parents, and then everyone thought it was just a phase I was going through, but I stuck with it and now they know it's not a phase. ( Just for the record every time I spell phase I spell it with an F before I realize it's a PH.)

And for those people who are planning on making fun of me, like calling me Vegtard, or giving me the "definition of vegetarian" or telling me how yummy that steak you're eating is, you might as well save it because I have heard it all, and it doesn't bother me.

If you decide to become vegetarian, and your parents are like the hardcore, meat with every meal, type people, or if you need to know what to eat, or you just want to know more then email me and I'd be glad to give you some advice.

So that's all I've got to say about that.... I so stole that line from Forrest Gump.

What's with the nickname?

I know you're probably wanting to hear about where and how I got the nickname Fluffy right? No? Well you're going to hear it anyways.

It was 3 years ago, I was in 7th grade. Every lunch, my friend (let's call her Jeff) and I would walk around the school yard and talk about the most random things.

So one day, we passed by a couple little girls, who couldn't be any older than 7, who were playing in the sand. For some reason they started to follow us. The one girl asked what Jeff's name was. So Jeff said her name was Jeff. The little girl replied " It's not anymore, your new name is Bob."

I stood there laughing, and then the little girls turned to me. " And your name is Fluffy Caterson." They followed us around calling us Bob and Fluffy Caterson all year. They told their friends about us. I was pretty popular amongst the little kids. I know, it's not something I like to brag about.

For the rest of my time at that school, all the little kids, and most of my friends, called me Fluffy. As stupid as that name is, it grew on me. Jeff's name never stuck.

So that's where my nickname came from, a couple of random, demanding little girls. So since you sat here and read my very interesting story... that was sarcasm by the way... do you guys have any interesting or weird nicknames?  If so comment telling me what it is and how you got it.

Talk to you guys later!

**Fluffy**

First, I'll start by introducing myself.

Hi, my name's Kelsey, but you can just call me Fluffy. I know it's an odd nickname, I have many odd nicknames as I am an odd person. You'll learn that rather quickly. I'm the farthest thing from normal.

So I'm going to start by telling you the 5 main things you should know about me:

1. I'm 15 years old, but I have the maturity of a 10 year old. If you don't like immature people, I suggest you leave. Now.

2.  I love rock, metal, classic rock, ect. Some of my favourite bands are Iron Maiden,Metallica,Slayer,Pearl Jam,and the Beatles. There is never a time, where I am not listening to music. Ok that's a lie and a half, I'm not listening to music right now.

3. You'd think because of the type of music I'm into I'd play drums, or guitar right? Well I don't. I play keyboard. Kind of nerdy, but I love it.

If you're already bored of me, you should probably leave now, because I don't get anymore exciting.

4. I love animals. Apparently I don't seem like the type of person who would, judging by the reaction of 98% of my friends when I told them I had went vegetarian, but I do. Always have. Always will.

5. I get off topic, very easily. I have a very short attention span. My mind just kind of wonders off sometimes. I don't know why it does but I like pie.

So there you go, a little bit about me. As if you really care right? Oh well, talk to you later guys.
